About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering started its journey in 2010. Since then the department has been imparting quality education to under graduate students. The department is backed up by good blend of young, energetic, experienced and qualified faculty members from diverse fields. It has well equipped state-of-the-art Smart Class Room with projector facility, Language Lab in collaboration with IIT, KGP and about a dozen of Laboratories with various research and testing facilities.
Besides these, department organize industrial visits, seminars & workshops for Students’ interaction with the present trend of the industries and also conducting material testing and consultancy involving students. Department also conduct grooming classes, mock tests for different competitive exams and provide assistance for Training & Placement.

Head of the DepartmentThe Department of Civil Engineering has been set up with a vision of producing high quality technical manpower needed by the industry, R&D organizations and Academic Institutions by imparting quality education through teaching and learning process to develop self-confidence through in-depth understanding of fundamental principles, development of creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering as per present industry requirement and the analytical ability to solve problems.
The Department also encourages its student to engage in extracurricular and co-curricular activities, essential for development, nurturing of team spirit and developing organizational skills.
After successful completion of this degree course, one can go for a post-graduate and doctoral program, if he is interested in research or teaching. There are ample opportunity for jobs, in both government and private organizations in the field of Infrastructure sectors, Real-Estate sectors, Gas & Oil sectors, Industrial sectors and R&D organizations.

Programme Outcomes (PO)
- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety & the cultural, societal & environmental considerations.
- Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern eng. & IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts & demonstrate the knowledge of, & need for sustainable development.

Our undergraduate program students will have:
- Employability: Civil Engineering Program students will be able to understand the basic concepts of science and technologies used in the field of Civil Engineering in order to enhance their employability.
- Higher Education and Research: Civil Engineering Program students will be able to obtain theoretical background of each course so that they are competent of applying it for solving real time problems.
- Nation Building: Civil Program students will be able to impart technological inputs and decision-making skills to become Technocrats and Entrepreneurs, and develop new concepts on emerging fields and pursue advanced education.
