About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) at Asansol Engineering College, accredited with an A grade by NAAC, began its journey in 2020 under the affiliation of MAKAUT, West Bengal, with an initial intake of 30 students. Currently, the department admits 60 students annually. Since 2024, the college has been functioning with autonomous status.
In today’s rapidly evolving and digitally-driven world, the convergence of technology and business insight is crucial. The CSBS program, developed in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is uniquely positioned at the intersection of core computer science and modern business systems. Guided and monitored by experts from TCS, the program ensures industry relevance and contemporary curriculum design.
The department adopts a holistic approach to education, blending theoretical foundations with practical applications. The curriculum spans a wide range of emerging domains—from Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to Design Thinking and Business Strategy—preparing students to become technically competent, business-aware, and ethically grounded professionals.
Our faculty members are passionate educators and dedicated researchers who mentor students through both academic and professional development. With TCS-trained faculty, the department fosters a vibrant culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning—empowering students to not only adapt to the future but to lead it.
Our students have secured placements in prestigious organizations such as TCS, Cognizant, IBM, Accenture, Deloitte, Salesforce, and more. Additionally, deserving students are offered internship opportunities at TCS.
Whether your aspiration is to work with leading tech firms, launch your own venture, or pursue advanced research, the CSBS Department at AEC provides the ideal foundation. By joining CSBS, you become part of a forward-thinking community committed to shaping the next generation of technology-driven business leaders.
